I attempted to use you gallery module to create a download-center. I have a
couple of pdf files, wich should be listed in a uniform way. Your module could
be great for this.

+ Management to handle a list of files
+ Files can be commented. 
+ Templates for the LIst.
+ nice build in upload capability
- can not handle non image files.

It would be great, if you'd have an option to allow non image file uploads for a
given template.
