[#11567] Please allow limiting min/max depth of News categories in output

Please allow limiting min/max depth of News categories in output
Detailed Description:
When calling News module, please allow limiting starting and ending depth of
News categories in output.

In my news page, I want to limit the categories shown in the category list to
just one particular level. I'm currently doing this by skipping undesired
category nodes in Smarty, but this is a sloppy approach as it makes it difficult
to track the amount of closing tags I should use. This isn't a big deal when
outputting just one level, but if I wanted to output two or more, it would be a
problem.

Thus I want to propose adding support for two additional optional parameters to
the News block: something like mincatlevel and maxcatlevel.

This is not a bug report, and not the intended usage of News

Yes, it's a feature request. Not sure where I was supposed to file it, but
usually such things go to the bugtracker along with biugs.

What do you mean by "not the indented usage" though? Do you think the use-case
of wanting to limit the amount of categories shown is not valid?
