At this moment this is faar out of scope. But... perhaps it can be taken in
considderation if
1) more people have the same request
2) a more detailed specification is provided as which functions it should have
and any idea how to accomplish this.

Ok, lets hope more are interested :D
As of point 2), ffmpeg generates thumbs and also converts the movie to some
other format if needed. Then as player a swf object to fancybox for example.

I agree with this request. I use Gallery to make a presentation, and want to
include some video frames.
At this point all we need is the ability to upload and thumbnail different file
types such as mov, avi, mp4, etc.
We can determine how to handle the file and play it in the template.

Much simpler would be to just add video references to a gallery (without
uploading files) to videos hosted on youtube, vimeo and so on. One would need
the ability to upload and assign a thumbnail, that's all (or, the thumbnail
could be read directly from youtube/vimeo). This would be a huge step forward.

I agree with admsh.
It would be great to have this addition to the module. If it's too much trouble
to integrate videos into the actual Gallery module, maybe as a new module?
Disregarding that, I love Gallery Module, it has made my life a lot easier.
Thanks for it.
