Summary:
Support memcached
Detailed Description:
Memcached is an excellent way of improving site performance, and make it least
least stand a chance of holding up to a slashdot or digg event. It's not too
difficult to integrate transparently either. http://www.danga.com/memcached/
PHP has support for it too: http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.memcache.php

Is this feature currently being considered? I think it would be a excellent
feature for cmsms to have.

Actually a better option is just to support pluggable caching in general. Cache
handlers for Zend, APC and eaccelerator would be sensible - perhaps the best way
of getting them would be via PEAR's cache_lite. Memcached only really comes into
its own when you're running on a cluster. If you're on a single server, you'll
get much better performance with the likes of APC. Smarty and APC already work
very nicely together, so that's something we get for free, but further
integration to reduce DB query counts can make orders of magnitude different in
performance.

we took a survey... and only 32 people responded to the survey... of those over
50% didn't even know what it was. Therefore, not worth implementing.
