Summary:
"Field 'group_id' doesn't have a default value" error with strict SQL mode
Detailed Description:
When trying to add a new frontend user with Self Registration I get a:

Field 'group_id' doesn't have a default value

error. This is with "Require membership in atleast one group" set to either no
or yes and a "Default Group for new users" set to an existing group.

After some digging around I noticed this error disappears when you disable
strict SQL mode. IMHO it would be better to have it work with SQL strict mode
enabled as well since this seems to be the default for new MySQL installs.

Is there some workaround for this?

Having the same error "Field 'group_id' doesn't have a default value"

Running:
==================
CMSMS 2.1.4
CGExtensions	1.53.10
CGSimpleSmarty	2.1.2
FEU 2.0.7
Selfregistration 1.9.6
==================

- FEU & selfreg installed, groups have been created (with properties assigned to
the group)
- Require membership in at least one group has been selected and the group has
been selected as the default group for new users
- The group has also been included in the protected page settings in FEU
(although the error was occurring even without this)
