Does the id in the database of a product option need to change every time it is
updated?

Sorry.

When you edit a product option, lets say it starts with the ID 1 in the
database, after it has been edited it could change to 2, or if there are more
product options in the database it could change to a higher number. I was
writing a UDT which interrogated the options, but if an admin had changed that
option before my user completed an action, what I wanted to do would fail.
