Just checking this out to format text from a text-area block (not a wysiwyg).

For my case, I needed to use the |nl2br modifier followed by |proot

however, the nl2br outputs <br /> which isn't one of the permutations your
modifier replaces. (ie there is a space before the slash). I have just added
'<br />','<BR />' into your array.

It might also be a thought to incorporate the nl2br into your modifier (only a
thought).
