Version: 1.7.4
CMSMS Version: 1.10-beta1
Severity: Major
Resolution: Works For Me
State: Closed
Summary:
No Calendar displayed with CMSms 1.10-beta 2
Detailed Description:
Hello,
As said in the forum rules for the beta test, we're asked to report non-working
modules here. So hopefully I'm in the right place.

The problem:

Where the Calendar should be displayed (Frontend) the page is empty.
In the site's source code it says: <!-- Not a tag module -->

No other errors displayed.

When switching on debug in config.php
The Calendar Related Items are:
Loading /xxx/modules/CGCalendar/CGCalendar.module.php = 723640 bytes for an
approximate total of 3953080
and later on:
Nothing is known about cgcalendar... cant load it

suprisingly the backend works well.

I've tried this with 2 installations, one is an upgraded from 1.9.4.3
and one is a clean new install with 1.10-beta2. No changes were made to
templates here. Both have the same problems.

Has this been resolved, or simply gone away?
After an upgrade and even a fresh install of 1.10 I had the same problem as
described by Mizar.
Suspect that a local site setting causes trouble, but have no idea what to
check.

Lots of stuff was fixed in beta2, beta3, and beta4.

Just tested with a CMSMS 1.10 install... CGCalendar works fine.

Robert: no doubt it works on your site -
as I said I suspect it is an issue of my host installation.

With the old Calendar module I always get this error (from the page where the
module is invoked):
Fatal error: Cannot assign by reference to overloaded object in
/.../lib/classes/module_support/modlang.inc.php on line 129

(From a fresh installation of 1.10 - no upgrade.)

Threre were earlier similar bugs reported with php 5.2.17 (this version is
running on my host).
Any experiences with php versions or configuration causing trouble?
I could dump the complete phpinfo output here, but will anybody read this?

Seems that my host does not like calendars at all, but maybe this is an
indication for what is wrong with my installation?

Tracked this down a bit further now for CGCalendar.
php language version: makes no difference here, 5.2 vs. 5.4 behave the same.
But the anguage selected on the first install screen (for a fresh install) seems
to make the difference:
