Had the same problem. 
Solved it this way: in the CMS MySql database in table <cms_siteprefs>, there
are several rows regarding SEOTools in the <sitepref_name> field. Find the
field: <SEOTools_mapi_pref_description_block>
correct the value without the "". Save the change and you should be on your way.
