Extra Fields for products
Detailed Description:
I'd like to see a feature to add some extra fields to the standard product
fields. For example, a shop that sells books. A book has an author, maybe a year
that it is written in, and how many pages it has. This can't be done unless you
change the code. Can you make this feature?

According to me you are able to use the attributes for this. You will have to
change the template at product detail level (if you want other headings) and
make sure that you only want the attribute to be shown and not to be part of the
price calculation.
