Currently, use of the "magnifying glass" icon is hardwired in the list view as
the method to access an individual
record.

It would be preferred to have "viewlink" simply return the URL to the view of
the item. This would allow the
template to control display of listed items. For example, one of the fields
could be linked to view the detail of that
record.
