Detailed Description:
Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in
xxxx\modules\CMSSimplepie\libs\simplepie.inc on line xxx

PS : make a backup before any modification

download last version of SimplePie; 

https://github.com/rmccue/simplepie/downloads

extract the archive and C/P the file simplepie.inc into your own installation.
Replace the existing file

\modules\CMSSimplepie\libs\simplepie.inc

Open the new file, find & replace all occurences :

=& new

by 

= new

save the file

done :)

can't we put it online ourselves as a version 1.1 with the corrected
simplepie.inc?
