[#1550] Filter news by date range

Filter news by date range
Detailed Description:
It is already possible to filter by news category, so it would be useful too to
include filtering by a date range compared to the published date.

With the help of some forum members I have managed to workaround this limitation
for now, but it would be good to include this functionality in the news module.

I would second, third and everything. Just felt into this trap today and had to
hack the News module...

I'm probably breaking a whole bunch of rules on
how-things-should-really-be-done, but I patched my news module to add "after"
and "prior" parameters.
Now if I could just figure out how to submit the patch.. Meanwhile, here's a zip
with the changes:
