Summary:
Button for Create-HTML-Mail-Template does not work
Detailed Description:
Hi,
thanks for FormBuilder. I use CMSms 1.10.3 in German.
When I create a form and add an email-adress-field there is a mailtemplate in
the advanced section for this field.
But after working for a while with the form this template is gone and there is
nothing but an empty area where the template should be.
The "Create-Sample-Template-Button" does not show any effect. Neither for
HTML-Templates nor for plain-text-templates. The area just remains empty.

I filled in a tempalte from another field there but after a while the area was
empty again. But obviously there are templates somewhere as the mails do arrive
and they obviously are derived from a template.
Thanks for helping

Reinhard

I'm having trouble reproducing this issue. Do you have more specific steps for
reproducing this? For example, exactly which email field are you using? What
browser did you use? Do you have anything blocking JavaScript from running?

Hi, Ryan,

thanks for helping.
• The email field is "Email Results to set Address(es)".
• I use the German translation. But switching to English didn't change anything.
• I am using Safari 5.1.3 on a Mac.
• I tried Firefox 10.0 on the Mac, too. Didn't work, either.
• I made a screenshot and uploaded it to my website. It‘s here:
http://www.reinhardmohr.de/FormBuilder-Screenshot.jpg
• No, there is nothing blocking JavaScript.

Is there anything else I can help with? Please let me know.

Thanks

Reinhard

When I click on the advanced tab for "Email Results to set Address(es)", and
then click on "Create Sample Template", nothing happens. This happens in Firefox
and Safari on the Mac. This doesn't happen when I click on Create Sample
Template in the Submission Template tab though.

Hmm. Rather odd that it happens on Firefox and Safari on Mac for you two. Have
either of you been able to test in other browsers or other OSes to see if you
can or cannot reproduce it there? I was unable to reproduce in Chrome 18 and
Firefox 10.0.2 on Windows Vista.

Hi,
I just checked everything with Chrome 18 on the Mac. And then with Internet
Explorer 7 and Firefox 3.0.1 on Windows XP (on Paralells on another Mac).
Nothing works – no template created.
Do you need more Information?
Thanks

Reinhard

Hmm. I'll try some more to reproduce this. In the mean time, could both of you
try to reproduce this on a new form with only a single text field? Also, would
you be able to email me exported copies of your forms that are showing this
problem? If it's not a browser issue, perhaps it's an issue with a field name.

Hi,

just sent the form. There was an umlaut ä in the field‘s name. So I removed it
and tried again – didn't work, either.

Thanks

I still can't reproduce the issue even with the test form that you sent me, so
it's not a problem with the form itself. It seems that more information is
needed.

On the page where you edit the email template, can you view the source and check
if the JavaScript functions populateopt_email_templatetext(formname) and
populateopt_email_template(formname) are defined properly? What are the details
of your server setup (OS, web server, DB, PHP versions)? Do you experience this
problem with _all_ forms on your site, or just some? Do you experience this
problem on any other CMSMS installations with FormBuilder 0.7.1?

Camille,

Do you by chance have the module CodeMirror installed?

Yes, I do have Code Mirror installed. It is the only module that I've found to
work for syntax highlighting. I have a really hard time working without it.

Yes. If I turn off Code Mirror, the html template will generate. Phew. I have
been hand coding the email template. I can turn Code Mirror on and off as needed
then!

some syntax highlighters don't refresh when the underlying textarea is updated.
not a Form Builder issue.
