Summary:
Sitemaps deleted when upgrading SitemapMgr
Detailed Description:
Hi, Rolf,
thanks for making SitemapMgr! It worked very well until I updated it to the
latest version (I think from 1.3.1, but not sure). Then I got an error report
from Google that my sitemap was missing. Now I looked it up and got an error
report from SitemapMgr with a big yellow panel that said "Sitemap file has not
yet been created. First create a new module template as described in the
documentation. Update the Name and Module Tag as you need it! A new
sitemap(-index) file will be created after submit."
I uninstalled and reinstalled but couldn't get it to work. I tried the module
tag as "{Navigator template='cms_template:Sitemap Pages'}" and as "{cms_module
module='Navigator' template='cms_template:Sitemap Pages'}" but it didn't work.
Then I switched back to SitemapMgr 1.4 – this worked – and then updated again.
Same error!
Now I am back to v 1.4 and it works.
Could you help?
Thank you
Reinhard

Did you try to (re)create the sitemap by clicking on the "Submit" button in the
sitemap tab(s)?
The sitemap and the sitemap index files should be renewed or created.

I just checked several of my websites and it all works there...

Did you check the sitemap.xml URL in the robots.txt file? It should contain http
or https.

Hi, Rolf,
thanks for helping. I just redid everything again. I upgraded from version 1.4
to version 1.5.1 and everything seemed to work – the sitemaps were here and
there was no error.
I don't know why one of my two sitemaps had disappeared earlier.
But just to make sure everything works I deleted one of my sitemaps now. And by
selecting the right module, giving it a name and hitting the submit button I
tried to recreate it – it didn't work again! I got the yellow error panel again.
I deleted the second one and couldn't recreate it, either.
So I switched back to version 1.4 for now.

My robots.txt file has been there before (just to be there) and its only content
is "User-agent: *".
No humanes.txt file yet.
Is there anything I can do to provide more information?
Thank you
Reinhard

Sorry, but I can't reproduce it...
I deleted a sitemap and index files from the server and let the SItemapMgr
module recreate them, and it was!

Only when the automatic sitemap renewal runs the sitemaps get deleted, but at
all my sites at different servers and PHP versions they are recreated
afterwards...

I suggest you start a forum topic for this and hope that others also have this
problem. Perhaps together we can find the cause of it.

Grtz. Rolf
